Plastic around the perimeter needed to be trimmed a bit with a Dremel for clearance and the speaker plug for the tweeter has to have some adapters made to complete the circuit- easy with some primary wire. The front speakers chosen were co-axial 4" so the OE separate midrange and tweeter were removed and replaced with the single speaker. If replacing the factory amplifier, some good information can be found HERE to avoid hacking the factory amplifier wiring harness or having to run new wires. Some information with wiring diagram for factory amplifier can be found HERE. Still need to hide wiring but wanted to hear the box ASAP. I decided not to use the high level harness that came with the amp and used a line level converter I had, tapping into the amplifier wiring harness at the plug with ScotchLocks. Power wire was fused and run through grommet next to battery and down the wiring channel to the trunk, ground wire was run to OE amplifier mounting screw in trunk.

Not as accurate as a sealed box but LOUD low end.customer was advised on options and chose this path RF 4 gauge wiring kit was used since they still use 100% OFC (Oxygen Free Copper) and not the cheaper and less effective CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). We chose to leave the factory speakers in the rear- this is a budget upgrade.įor bass, we decided to build a dual reflex bandpass box (30/80 Hz) for the single RF 10". For highs we wanted speakers that could be run with the factory amplification and chose Rockford Fosgate R14x2 for the front and Rockford Fosgate R1675x2 for the doors (manual HERE, cutout templates HERE). We decided on a Rockford Fosgate P1S2-10 (manual HERE, displacement Installation Advisory HERE) powered by a Rockford Fosgate R500x1D digital amplifier (manual HERE, speaker level input Product Advisory HERE) for lows.

Since it is always a good idea to dump all fluids on a pre-owned vehicle, we decided to change the engine oil/filter, transmission fluid, and differential fluid.and also installed a Fumoto Oil Drain Valve, P/N F108- follow the installation directions and don't over torque.įor the engine: Amsoil Signature Series 0w20 Synthetic Motor Oilįor the transmission: Amsoil Manual Transmission Fluid 75w90 (GL4)įor the Differential: Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 (GL5) but will use Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 (GL5) next time- There is a thread HERE (archived HERE) that discusses why 75w110 is the better fluid for the differential My son and his friend took a few pics the week we brought it home, I took some pics, other pics are in the dealer ad: The car had less than 7500 miles on it and the interior was in mint condition.a few dings we'll take care of later but the best part was the performance items the original owner had installed: Race Comp Yellow Springs/ Bilstein B6 Struts and Shocks, TRD Intake/Short Shifter/Exhaust, Enkei RPF1 wheels, and wider 225/45/17 Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 2 tires. My son had wanted a FRS/BRZ for a while so with his graduation from high school, we figured it was time for a newer car with some warranty.and his first car payment.
